It’s awesome view everywhere if you like the stone-age stuff, caves and beautiful view of western ghat.
Good. Hard to climb if you are going with small kids. Some steps in-between not proper. You require to park at the last place and walk for 1 km to up. Then you need to climb 350 steps to up. The steps to go up passes through caves. It’s awesome view everywhere if you like the stone-age stuff, caves and beautiful view of western ghat.

Amazing view from the chembra peak and heart shaped lake is very nice … trekking place we enjoyed !!


 

3. Thirunelli Temple

Amazing serene place with excellent views.
Roads from Kattikkulam to Thirunelly temple passes through Tholpetty wildlife sanctuary and if you are lucky you may spot some wild animal on the way.


4. Lakkidi View Point

This is a good view point to see the beauty of the Thamaraserry churam and its hair pin bends . Although monkeys are causing little trouble , we will be able to manage by avoiding food items from their view.


5. Soochippara Falls (Sentinel Rock Waterfall)

Soochipara falls is a beautiful falls. A km long well paved walkway from the ticket counter leads one to the falls. It is possible to take bath in the falls but rocks are very very slippery and so one has to be careful. Otherwise one can take bath in the puddle of water collecting at the bottom. Taking bath in the falls was an exhilarating experience. The way is a climbing up process but not steep except an initial portion. The entry fee is Rs.59/- and car parking charges are Rs.36/-. Plastics are not allowed. Water bottle is put with sticker and has to be brought back.

Worth visit place for children and mid aged people. One need to walk to the top of dam to have panorama view of dam. Jeep and van services are available in case if people cannot take steps to reach dam.

– Speed boat, kayaking, tricycles are available for water rides. Tricycle costed 400 per two people and it was fun. Ensure to wear live jackets (safety is priority !!)
– Swings are available between jack fruit trees and i could see most of them are enjoying (age not matter here as who dont like swing)
– For kids jorbing ball is available and it will roll in water pool
– Rest rooms are available on top of dam
– Fish spa for legs ( 70 rupees for 20 mins )

Overall its worth visit to this place. Minimum of 3 to 4 hours required to visit this place. Car parking is available next to main entrance


7. Kuruvadweep

This is another place to escape the city’s noise to enjoy the nature. First you will be moving to the island in a bamboo raft which has a seating capacity of around 25-30. But the distance just around 75 meters. Then when you go inside the island you can have a walk for around a km surrounded by the noise of insects and birds. At the end you will see a stream with lesser depth in which you can have a lot of fun!

8. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary

We saw almost all the herbivores such as elephants, bison, deer. We heard the alarm call of the deer, clearly indicating that the carnivores were near.
